RealCryptoCap Launches: CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko Are Wrong About Crypto Market Cap

RealCryptoCap excludes over $330 billion in stablecoins, wrapped assets, and tokenized Wall Street products that CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko still count as crypto. New platform shows true crypto capitalization, real Bitcoin dominance, AI analysis with voice chat, advanced charts, Crypto Bubbles, and WebMCP for AI agents.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia. September 18, 2026. RealCryptoCap (https://realcryptocap.com), the market data platform from Node0 Data Systems, has launched with a blunt claim: CoinMarketCap (cryptomarketcap.com) and CoinGecko (coingecko.com) are not measuring crypto. They are measuring crypto plus tokenized cash, wrapped exposure, and Wall Street products stapled onto blockchains. RealCryptoCap strips that padding out so investors and traders can see real crypto market cap and real Bitcoin dominance.

The numbers make the case. CoinGecko currently reports roughly $2.69 trillion in total crypto market cap. RealCryptoCap's native-crypto index sits near $2.42 trillion. Just the largest assets RealCryptoCap excludes, including Tether, USDC, tokenized treasuries, gold tokens, wrapped products, and real-world asset wrappers, already total more than $330 billion. That is not crypto network value. That is cash, receipts, and financial products being counted next to Bitcoin and Ethereum as if they were the same thing.

And it is getting worse. Tokenized stocks are already live. Stablecoin supply runs in the hundreds of billions. CBDC and tokenized-deposit pilots are expanding. If CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko keep counting every on-chain wrapper as "crypto," their rankings will eventually be topped by national currencies and FAANG stocks wearing a crypto label. Bitcoin dominance will keep moving for reasons that have nothing to do with native crypto risk. Traders will keep reading a larger, healthier-looking market than the native crypto universe really is.

"For crypto investors and traders, the question is simple: what is the real market cap, and what is real Bitcoin dominance?" said the RealCryptoCap team. "CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko pad the denominator with tokenized dollars, wrapped Bitcoin, and TradFi products. Traders need the native number first, then the wrappers as separate signals."

Real methodology for real crypto markets

RealCryptoCap ranks real crypto assets only. Stablecoins are excluded. Wrapped and bridged tokens are excluded. Liquid-staking receipts are excluded. Tokenized stocks, bonds, treasuries, funds, commodities, and other real-world asset products are excluded from the Top 500 native-crypto index.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and other base-layer networks are counted because they are crypto networks with their own economics. Stablecoins are tokenized cash. Wrapped assets are mirrored exposure. Tokenized equities are traditional securities placed on a blockchain. CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko put all of these in one table. RealCryptoCap does not, because that table is not a crypto market cap ranking. It is a mixed bag of crypto networks, dollar wrappers, and finance products.

RealCryptoCap publishes Real Dominance, which measures Bitcoin against native crypto networks only. No polluted stablecoin denominator. No wrapped double-counting. Traders can see whether BTC is actually leading the real crypto market or whether CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko headline numbers are being padded by assets that are not crypto risk.

Excluded assets are not ignored. The Market Data terminal tracks stablecoin supply, ETF flows, tokenized products, and wrapped liquidity as separate liquidity and market-structure signals. Count the real crypto market first. Study the financial wrappers second. Do not let CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko do both jobs in one polluted ranking.
